I (and all of the writers involved in Sha’Da) thank you for taking the time to read the collection and really thinking about each story and what worked and didn’t work for you. It’ll really help people figure out if the anthology is right for them and help bring attention to a lot of very talented writers.

On a personal note, I’m hugely flattered that you enjoyed my story so much. Every author wants to know that they’ve written a “gem of a story” that’s worth the price of admission. That alone makes the effort worth while. Hopefully, the next time you run across one of my stories you’ll enjoy that just as much.

I think you may like what you read.

That in itself compels me to watch it. Most Hollywood movies fairly scream, “I am a movie for the box office, not your mind.”

I think the gold star is Dustin. For Dustin, I’d like to thank you for volunteering at the shelter. Most shelters can’t survive without their volunteers and we know the animals can’t survive without the shelters.

I read the story about Moosey. That’s wonderful. I love the fact that your mom fell in love with Moosey and took him home. I bet he’ll love snow once he gets over the surprise of frozen rain.

And I just heard that a person in my area adopted another of the older dogs from Miami. That’s three wonderful success stories. All good news.

No worries. These really aren’t “issues.” Dustin is fascinated with the cat. I think he thinks Mr. Horse is a funny looking dog. The cat (being a cat) doesn’t like having a “stalker” and prefers to ignore Dustin. So right now they are learning to co-exist. Everyone who has cats and dogs tell me that it can take months for the two of them to simply walk past each other. Not a biggie. Everyone is doing fine.

Quick question, do you have a birthdate for Dustin? We’re treating his adoption date as his birthdate but if you have more accurate information we’d take it. Thanks.

Dustin is an incredible boy and he’s been a joy to have. Thank you and your boyfriend for your volunteer work. Without loving people who give of themselves to help care for the animals, a dog like Dustin would never have made it this long and we would never have gotten him.

Now, if we can only get him to leave the cat alone.
